The memorial service details for late Kwaito legend Doc Shebeleza, whose real name Victor Bogopane, have been announced.
The service will be held on Wednesday, 15 January, at SABC Radio Park, M1 Studios, in Johannesburg, starting at 3PM.
Doc Shebeleza passed away at his home on Thursday, 9 January 2025, at the age of 51.
The beloved musician, who underwent surgery in December 2024, had been scheduled to return to hospital for a second procedure this week.
Doc Shebeleza made his mark on the South African music scene with the release of his self-titled debut album in 1995, which featured the chart-topping hit Ghets Ghetsa.
His follow-up album, S’kumfete, catapulted him further into fame, with its title track becoming a fan favourite.
Known for his vibrant sound and dynamic presence, he became a pioneer of the Kwaito genre, influencing a generation of musicians.
His legacy, filled with timeless music and cultural impact, will be cherished by fans and the industry alike.
