Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, has been hospitalized after having a stroke that has affected his speech.
The 77-year-old former TV lighting director was transported to a US hospital on Monday, May 23, a week before he was set to go to London for the first time for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, according to the Daily Mail.
Samantha, Meghan’s half-sister, claims he is healing but blames the stroke on the Duchess of Sussex.

According to the publication, Markle, who resides in Mexico, was carried across the border by ambulance on Monday night.
He was eventually transferred to a clinic in Chula Vista, California, just a few hours’ drive from Meghan and Harry’s Montecito property.
