Mandla Ndlovu has been elected as the ANC Mpumalanga provincial chair
At the ANC’s national conference, President Cyril Ramaphosa’s bid for a second term as president received a boost when his supporter Mandla Ndlovu was chosen chairperson of the party in Mpumalanga, the party’s largest voting group.
Ndlovu defeated Deputy President David Mabuza’s supporter Lucky Ndinisa in the closely contested election. Ndinisa received 278 votes, while Ndlovu received 440.

Ndlovu received 440 votes out of 718 cast, while his opponent, Lucky Ndinisa, received 278 votes.
Ndlovu’s slate won all five top seats, including provincial treasurer, which was also won by murder suspect Mandla Msibi.
Msibi was not present at the event.
Last year, he withdrew from the party due to the murder allegations he is facing.
