A Limpopo policewoman who is accused of raping and sexually grooming her 10-year old son has been denied bail.
The female officer was remanded in custody due to her not having a fixed address and because she interfered with witnesses.
She was arrested in January after videos of her allegedly having sex with her son was circulated on social media.
The 40-year old was seen on camera naked, with her minor son on top of her.
Her son has since been moved to a place of safety.
The officer is being detained at the Dennilton Police Station, and faces charges of raping a minor, sexual grooming of a child, and creating and distributing child pornography using her son.
Police Minister Bheki Cele condemned the SAPS officers’ actions, calling her a criminal.
“When you are told that a member of the SAPS has been arrested, it is one of the most painful things. But to do this is even beyond comprehension.
This is not just a member of the SAPS. It’s the real mother of the boy, she is arrested, and to us, she is no more an honourable member; she is a criminal.”

According to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID), the matter has been postponed to 03 May for further investigation.
