A life-sized bronze statue of Desmond Tutu has been unveiled in Cape Town.
Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu’s life-size bronze statue was presented in Cape Town on Thursday.
The monument is one of 100 in an exhibition of figures who have made a difference locally and around the world.
According to News24, the costs of making the bronze statue were covered by Woolworths SA.
The late Tutu was an Anglican cleric who in 1984 received the Nobel Prize for Peace for his role in the opposition to apartheid in South Africa.

He passed away in 2021 and was a key figure in the campaign to end racial discrimination and segregation in South Africa under the white minority government from 1948 to 1991.
Tutu will join other struggle icons such as Nelson Mandela, Winnie Mandela, Beyers Naude, Mahatma Gandhi, Albert Luthuli, and Oliver Tambo.
