King Charles III will host President Cyril Ramaphosa in his first state visit as British monarch.
The South President will be accompanied to Buckingham Palace with his wife, Tshepo Motsepe.
In a statement released by The Palace, President Ramaphosa has accepted the invitation by King Charles III and will visit the UK between 22 to 24 November.
Ramaphosa’s visit to the UK comes amid the controversy surrounding a cover-up of a robbery at his Phala Phala farm.
Accused of money laundering, kidnapping and extortion, Ramaphosa has denied using his power to conceal the crime.
He has expressed that the $4 million which was stolen from under a mattress at his Limpopo game farm came from the sale of cattle and game.
Ramaphosa who has just been nominated by the ANC Soweto for a second term in office is also facing mounting pressure due to the country’s on-going power crisis.
The President’s UK visit will be the reigning monarch’s first state visit since being crowned King, after the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
King Charles III and Queen consort, Camilla Parker Bowles last visited South Africa in November 2011.
The state visit is believed to be a way the King can encourage South Africa and other Commonwealth countries to strengthen its ties within the “family of nations.”
