The Kei Mouth detective who allegedly raped a 17-year old girl inside the police station, is set to apply for bail next week.
Making an appearance at the Komga Magistrate’s Court in the Eastern Cape on Monday, 22 August, the detective will be remanded in custody until his formal bail application.
The 45-year old detective reportedly raped the girl after making an advance on her when he picked her up from her home to question her about a complaint she had filed.
After rejecting the detective, the girl said he forcefully penetrated her from behind and she cried while he was raping her.
She managed to escape and ran to the Community Service Centre, after she bit and stabbed the detective in the shoulder.
The incident took place on 08 August and the detective was arrested on Friday, 19 August by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID).
