A 17-year old rape victim is receiving counselling after a police officer allegedly forced himself on her.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is conducting an investigation into the heinous accusations against the 45-year old detective from Keith Mouth police station in the Eastern Cape.
IPID says the incident took place on 08 August, when the detective reportedly fetched the girl from her home to attend to her complaint about her boyfriend.
It is alleged the detective told the girl that he wanted to have a relationship with her but she rejected his advances.
The girl accuses the detective of kissing her, and forcefully penetrating her from the back.
“It is alleged the 17-year old rape victim cried while the suspect was raping her. She bit him on his left shoulder and was able to pick up a bottle, which she used to hit the suspect on the head with until it broke.
She then allegedly used a piece of the broken glass to stab him in his shoulder.”
The girl managed to escape after throwing the detectives phone against a wall and stomping on it. Using the opportunity where he inspected his cellphone to run to the Community Service Centre.
After opening a case of rape, IPID arranged counselling for the victim and is investigating the case.
