The EFF have called for the immediate removal of Finance Minister, Enoch Godongwana amid sexual assault allegations levelled against him.
This comes after a masseuse at a five-star hotel in the Kruger National Park accused the finance minister of sexual assault.
The woman has reportedly filed charges against the Minister but he has not received any communication from the police to date.
In a statement, the party claims that Godongwana tried silencing the woman with a large sum of money after he had allegedly violated her.
“The woman, who is a massage therapist at the hotel, has laid sexual assault charges against Godongwana, after he appropriated her vagina by fingering her. True to the misogynist practice of silencing women after violation, he also tried silencing her by bribing her with a large amount of cash.”
The EFF calls for the removal of the Finance Minister
Calling for the President to immediately remove Godongwana from office, the EFF says they will not allow the minister to address any public meeting, as GBV allegations are serious.
“Enoch Godongwana must know that he will not have peace as a Minister. He will not address any public meeting, he must expect disruptions. GBV must be consciously and unapologetically disrupted and it is the EFF who will do so.”

Meanwhile, the ANC Women’s League has called for police to act swiftly in investigating these sexual assault allegations.
The league is also calling for the ruling party to handle the matter internally.
Enoch Godongwana has denied the allegations, saying at the time of the alleged incident, he was in his room with his wife.
