EFF leader Julius Malema says South Africa is being run by a ‘part-time’ President who is no where to be found when he’s needed.
Malema’s criticism of President Cyril Ramaphosa comes after former President Jacob Zuma accused the current leader of treason and called him corrupt.
Zuma said that no President should be allowed to conduct private business whilst in office as it is inconsistent with the oath of office.
Now, the Economic Freedom Fighters Commander-In-Chief has weighed in on the matter and called the President a ‘part-time’ leader.
Speaking at an EFF’s elective conference in KwaZulu-Natal over the weekend, Malema said the country is on auto-pilot because Ramaphosa is nowhere to be found.
“The country has collapsed. We are on auto-pilot and we don’t know where the pilot is. Those who have heard the rumours say the pilot is at Phala Phala selling buffalos and ankoles. That’s why the plane doesn’t have a pilot.”
Malema reiterated Jacob Zuma’s sentiments about the President running his own business while steering the country saying it will never work.
“You can’t be a pilot and at the same time in the same plane, be an air hostess and sell Simba chips and leave the plane on auto-pilot because you are busy selling.”
Ramphosa has in recent weeks come under heavy criticism by a number of politicians and former leaders who can’t understand why the President hasn’t addressed the worst rolling blackouts in SA history.
On Saturday, Zuma said that loadshedding was fixed during his tenure as President and that it’s Ramaphosa’s rule which has led to the power crisis.
