Soweto-born Jazz icon, Gloria Bosman has died at the age of 50-years old, after a short illness.
Bosman who performed at last year’s Joy of Jazz event, in partnership with Kaya 959, died on Tuesday, 14 March.
News of the singer’s death was confirmed with Kaya News.
Gloria Bosman was one of the artists who were honoured at the 2022 Basadi In Music Awards in partnership with Kaya 959.
The two-time SAMA award winner went onto to have an illustrious career after joining the Market Theatre and studying opera at the Pretoria Technikon.
Tribute messages for the Play Me The Love Songs hitmaker have started pouring in, with fellow musicians, Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse and Joy of Jazz founder, Peter Tladi sharing just how impactful Bosman was to the industry.

Bosman started her singing career in the Mofolo Soweto church choir, and went on to perform on South African and international stages.
Gloria Bosman is survived by her only daughter and grandchild.
