Gauteng residents are warned of an intense cold front that is expected to hit the province from Wednesday, 15 June.
Temperatures are expected to drop to icy lows of 0° celsius and reach a high between just 12 to 13° celsius.
This is due to a strong cold front from the Western Cape which is set to make landfall inland by Wednesday.
On Monday morning, 13 June, several Gauteng residents woke up to their gardens and parks in the city covered in frost.
Temperatures dropped overnight to 2° and the intense cold front is expected to last all week.
Residents are urged to exercise caution when making use of gas heaters, paraffin lamps and fires to keep warm.
