The Special Tribunal has ordered Hamilton Ndlovu, a controversial businessman, to repay the R158 million he obtained through shady PPE contracts.
The National Health Laboratory Service awarded Ndlovu and his linked enterprises a multi-million rand tender totalling R172 million.
The Special Tribunal has urged NHLS to put Ndlovu, and associated companies, their directors and shareholders, on the database of restricted suppliers.

In 2020, the Special Investigating Unit released an internal investigation that revealed severe acts of criminality in the granting of the PPE contract.
It was discovered that just about R15 million was spent on the mandatory PPEs.
The SIU was then given permission to freeze R42 million in Ndlovu’s assets.
