
Gerhard Ackerman, sex ring kingpin accused has been found guilty of over 740 charges.
Gerhard Ackerman, the leader of a sex ring, was found guilty of more than 700 crimes by the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg, including rape, attempted kidnapping, sexual exploitation, sexual grooming, and possession of child pornography.
Ackerman’s trial began in January, and he took over two days to enter his not-guilty plea to 740 charges.
Ackerman claimed on April 19 that he had done nothing wrong because the young boys “knew what they were doing,” but Johannesburg High Court Judge Ismail Mahomed found that Ackerman he was complicit in the commission of the crimes.

The judge said Ackerman had taken advantage of the children and targeted their vulnerability because many of the boys were from low-income homes.
Ackerman’s laptop contained over 1000 pornographic photographs and videos, while his smartphone contained over 600. These pictures show children having sex with adults and having their bodies violated.

He was held responsible for both producing and disseminating child porn and having it in his possession.
