
77 South African nationals are still stuck in Sudan.
There are about 77 South Africans still stuck in the war-torn Sudan, according to the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco).
Over a week ago, fierce fighting broke out between the military and a paramilitary unit in Khartoum, the capital of the north African nation.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSf) paramilitary group’s integration into the military as part of Sudan’s transition to civilian authority is the topic of contention.
More than 420 individuals have died as a result of the ongoing warfare and several ceasefires that didn’t last.
The information was confirmed by Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) spokesperson Clayson Monyela.

Monyela also gave details of the situation on the ground confirming that it is very dangerous & risky.
Morwarre. The airport is damaged & closed. Khartoum is effectively a no-fly zone. Intense fighting is continuing. All routes out of Khartoum remain dangerous & risky.
