Gerhard Ackerman, the accused child sex-ring mastermind has admitted that young boys he lured gave clients ‘happy ending’ massages.
The 52-year old who faces 740 counts for rape, attempted rape, attempted murder and the production and distribution of child porn, said the boys were all 16-years old.
Ackerman feels he had done nothing wrong as this is the legal age of consent in South Africa.
The alleged child sex-ring kingpin also does not believe that a ‘happy ending’ massage counted as a sexual act.
According to Ackerman, because his business was a full body massage service, a ‘happy ending’ was allowed, if a client requested this.
A happy ending is when a client ejaculates from having his penis stroked and massaged.
Ackerman denies that sexual intercourse took place at his massage parlour, and said any “extra” services were at the discretion of the clients and the teenage boys.
However, a voice-note recording of Ackerman explaining to clients the sexual activities they are welcome to have when booking a boy, detailed explicit sexual intercourse as well.
Gerhard Ackerman also admitted to having sexual intercourse with a 16-year old boy, which he filmed.
He told the court that boy paid him a personal visit and had actually initiated sex with him.
“I recorded it with his consent. He actually initiated sex, he told me to lay on my back and got on top of me.”
The State found two videos on Ackerman’s phone which was classified child pornography and will be contended as rape.
Paul Kennedy, Ackerman’s co-accused, took his life in February 2022, after charges against the pair were brought to light.
Ackerman’s case is continuing.
