The Gauteng Provincial Government will be handing over thousands of jobs to job seekers as part of the Nasi iSpani mass recruitment programme.
Nasi iSpani is an initiative aimed at addressing unemployment and promoting access to job opportunities within the province, and the handover will take place on Thursday, 27 July at Orlando Stadium.
Since February 2023, the Gauteng Provincial Government has recruited and trained 6000 crime prevention wardens to help in the fight against crime and lawlessness in Gauteng, and 6000 members of the green army to keep Gauteng clean and green.
In May 2023, the provincial government announced a partnership with the Manufacturing, Engineering, and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA) in May 2023 unveiled a training and skills development programme to recruit 6000 young people to be trained as solar technicians.
Successful candidates have already gone through the required recruitment and screening process.
The Provincial Government says this is another measure of uplifting economies in long-suffering areas.
“This is yet another measure of revitalizing the township economies which were long-suffering because of structural unemployment and the lack of money circulating in areas where most poor people live.
The recruitment process for those that applied during the 16 June mass recruitment drive is still underway and communication will be sent out to candidates confirming receipt of their applications as indicated previously as well as communication to the shortlisted candidates.”
