Ford has issued safety recalls on models due to various manufacturing defects, urging affected owners to seek free repairs at dealerships.

Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA) has announced safety recalls for four of its popular models: the EcoSport, Puma, Everest, and Ranger.
Affected customers are being contacted directly and advised to visit a Ford dealer for complimentary repairs. Owners can also check their vehicle’s recall status by entering their VIN on Ford’s website or by calling 0860 011 022 (local) or +2712 843 5824 (international).
Ranger and Everest: Certain Ranger bakkie and Everest SUV models equipped with 3.0L V6 engines, manufactured between June 2022 and March 2025, are being recalled. A potential camshaft sprocket fracture could lead to an unexpected engine stall, increasing accident risk. Approximately 1,050 vehicles are affected across Southern Africa, with 995 in South Africa.
Puma: A recall has been issued for certain Puma crossovers built from November 2021 to September 2024. A rubbing fuel line could cause a leak, potentially leading to an engine stall or fire. Owners may detect a fuel odour or observe leaks. Around 1,796 vehicles are impacted in the region, with 1,775 in South Africa.
EcoSport: Specific EcoSport models produced between April 2021 and July 2022 are subject to a recall due to front half shafts that may not have been fully inserted during assembly. This could result in a loss of engine power while driving or a vehicle rollaway if parked without the handbrake, both increasing the risk of an accident.
