Eskom reverts back to load-shedding stages 4 & 5.
For the remainder of the week, load shedding has been increased by Eskom to stages 4 and 5.
Stage 4 power outages will then be imposed from 5 a.m. on Saturday until 4 p.m., after which stage 5 outages will resume from 5 p.m. until a.m. on Sunday.
Following the failure of generating units at the Camden, Kendal, Lethabo, and Majuba power facilities, the decision was made to increase the rolling blackouts.

According to Sikonathi Mantshantsha from the utility, there have also been delays in getting some units back into service.
“During the same time, the return to service of a generating unit each at Matla and Tutuka power stations has been delayed. Two generating units at Kriel, a unit each at Majuba and Tutuka power stations have been returned to service.”
“Planned maintenance to 6 462MW while breakdowns currently amount to 15 977MW of generating capacity.”
