Days after the Boksburg tanker explosion there are calls of support for the mother who lost 4 children.
Rosetta Brits from Plantation, Boksburg found her children lying on the grass, with three of them found dead on the scene.
Her fourth child, Sebastian who was 14-years old, was airlifted to Charlotte Maxeke Hospital where he died 30-minutes later.
Rosetta also lost 10-year old Gerrie and Adrian, her 16-year old daughter Jamel and Ian de Lange (25) who was Jamel’s boyfriend.
Speaking to media after the explosion which claimed 18 lives, Rosetta said her children and Ian were on their way back home, when they spotted the truck stuck under the bridge.
The children reportedly stopped to take pictures to show their mom, when tragedy struck.
Rosetta shared that she’s still in disbelief and struggling to come to terms with the deaths of her four children.
The mother of 7 shared that she lost her husband last year and was not coping. She now has to find the strength to care for her other 3 children on her own.
At the time of publication, Rosetta’s family had still not finalized her children’s burial, saying she did receive some help from organisations and political parties.
But it’s not just food and blankets that the Brits family requires during this devastating time and there are calls of support for the mother who lost 4 children.

Meanwhile, the driver who drove the gas tanker under the low-lying bridge that caused the explosion is expected to appear in court on Wednesday, 28 December.
The 32-year old faces multiple counts of culpable homicide, negligent driving, causing an explosion and malicious damage to property.
