The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has advised that a well-developed cold front is expected to make landfall this weekend.
Gauteng residents have been warned to brace themselves for freezing temperatures that are set to hit the province on Sunday, 8 June.
This comes after the province was hit by its first major cold front of 2025 two weeks ago.
Speaking to Kaya 959 SAWS weather forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela said, “In Gauteng, on Sunday, you can expect partly cloudy and windy conditions, but it will be cold over central parts as well as the Southern parts of the province.”
Thobela added that the frigid temperatures are expected to persist until Tuesday.
“Cold temperatures will persist into Tuesday as the cold front moves further East. If you are in Gauteng, you can expect a fine day with cold temperatures over most parts of the province on Tuesday”.
