The South African Police Service (SAPS) have confirmed that another suspect has been arrested in the Thabo Bester case.
A 51-year man was arrested on Tuesday, 18 April, at the Mangaung Correctional Center in Bloemfontein.
This brings the number of arrests to five in the case involving the convicted rapist and murderer.
Arrests made thus far include:
- Dr Nandipha Magudumana
- Dr Nandipha’s father – Zolile Sekeleni (65)
- Former G4S employee – Senohe Matsoara (39)
- CCTV Technician – Teboho Lipholo (44)
Police say the latest suspect faces charges of assisting an inmate to escape from lawful custody and defeating the ends of justice.
The man is expected to appear at the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court on Thursday, 20 April.
Police also took a 28-year old man into custody for questioning after he was found driving a Porsche Cayenne which belonged to Dr Nandipha.
