The African National Congress has reminded the public that all Disciplinary proceedings of the ANC are not open to the media and the public. This follows numerous media inquiries on former President Jacob Zuma’s appearance before the committee.
Zuma has been accused by the party of breaking several ANC regulations, including the party constitution. The accusations center on Zuma’s choice to endorse and represent the uMkhonto weSizwe party in the May elections.
As per the ANC, Zuma’s endorsement of a different political party contravenes ANC constitution rule 25. In this instance, Zuma claimed to be saving the ANC when he founded the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party in Soweto in December of last year.
The ANC has said in a statement that a verdict will be announced once the committee has received and reviewed all representations
