Gqeberha police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a 15-year old’s girl death after an alleged violent gang rape.
According to the HeraldLive, Zenizole Vena managed to escape after she was held hostage and gang raped.
The girl ran to the Motherwell clinic in Gqeberha for help but was reportedly turned away and told to go to the police to report the incident before she could receive treatment.
Zenizole unfortunately collapsed and died inside the police station’s community service centre, in the arms of a woman.
Police spokesperson Priscilla Naidu says they are investigating the circumstances around the girl’s death.
“A teenager was brought into SAPS Motherwell community service centre by an elderly woman who informed police that she found the girl on the street, crying.
She was taken to the clinic by the same woman. While on the way back, the teenager began to froth and vomit.
It is alleged that the teenager may have had an epileptic seizure at the station and an ambulance was contacted however she passed away at the community service centre. Post-mortem report is awaited.”
