As the festive season approaches Gauteng residents have been asked to be vigilant as criminal activities are usually on the rise during this period.
Residents of Meadowlands Zone 2 were left terrified following a bold heist at the Pick n Pay Liquor and Supermarket on Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, eyewitnesses claimed that twelve heavily armed suspects broke into the store and demanded cash, cell phones, and alcohol from the employees and patrons.

Crime In SA, on X (formerly known as Twitter) reports that to scare the victims, the suspects fired three shots into the air and that after taking R100,000 in cash and pricey alcohol, they left the scene.

According to Opera News SA, Captain Moss, the police spokesperson, verified that an armed robbery case had been opened and that leads were being pursued by the police and urged anyone with knowledge to come forward and support the inquiry
“We are aware of the robbery, and we are working hard to track down the suspects. We have deployed more patrols and visibility in the area to deter any criminal activity. We urge the community to work with us and report any suspicious people or vehicles to the police. Together, we can make Meadowlands Zone 2 a safer place for everyone,”
