A British national of Indian origin, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, has been identified as the sole survivor of a devastating Air India plane crash that claimed 241 lives.
Ramesh, seated in seat 11A, miraculously escaped the wreckage, offering a glimmer of hope amidst widespread tragedy.
Ramesh had been on a family visit and was en route back to the United Kingdom. He revealed that his brother had been on the same flight, seated in a different row. The grim reality of the situation meant he had no immediate information on his brother’s fate.
The flight, carrying 242 individuals, met with disaster just moments after takeoff.
“Thirty seconds after takeoff, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. It all happened so quickly,” Ramesh recounted from his hospital bed, where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.
Air India later issued a somber confirmation: of the 242 people on board, 241 had perished, leaving Ramesh as the sole survivor of the catastrophic incident.
News of Ramesh’s survival reached his family in Leicester, England, bringing a mix of relief and profound sorrow.
