An Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner carrying 242 passengers and crew en route to the United Kingdom from Ahmedabad, India, crashed shortly after takeoff, with authorities indicating there are likely no survivors.
The flight departed Ahmedabad at 1:38 PM local time with 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, one Canadian, and seven Portuguese nationals on board, the airline confirmed in a social media statement.
Ahmedabad Police Commissioner G.S. Malik told ABC News that all onboard are feared dead.
