In a recent interview on My Top 10 at 10 with Tbose, South African rapper K.O made a big announcement about the immense success of his hit record Sete. Despite his extensive catalog of great hits as a member of Teargas and a solo artist, Sete stands out as the pinnacle of K.O career, achieving a remarkable milestone in the music industry.
K.O shared, for the first time publicly, that Sete has reached Diamond status, making it the first-ever local record to accomplish this remarkable feat.
During the interview, K.O proudly declared, “We are the first song in South Africa to go diamond,” highlighting the groundbreaking significance of this achievement.
The rapper has not received his plaque as it is currently being made. “Sete reached over 100 million streams across all platforms,” he said.
K.O to release song with AKA
Before his untimely tragic passing on February 10, AKA had recorded music with K.O. The Sete hitmaker made it known to the public following AKA’s passing.
“Exactly 7 days ago, AKA and myself were in the studio recording a precursor single to our long overdue collaborative tape. 7 days later I can’t believe I’m even here making this post.
“Rest in heaven, dear friend, king, legend, icon, GOAT. Love you for life,” tweeted K.O.
Responding to Nadia’s plea to release the track recently, K.O confirmed that he’ll drop it this forthcoming summer.
