Renowned South African singer/songwriter Thandiswa Mazwai is set to drop her new single Kulungile this Friday.
In anticipation of her new record, Thandiswa shared an image of her younger self, saying, “This is me. Little me. Funny. Sad. Smart. Big sister par excellence, and I suspect I can sing.”
The song Kulungile is a tribute to “little” Thandiswa. “I need her to know we are ok,” she said.
Thandiswa also shared that the record is focused on healing childhood wounds. “Maybe your father didn’t claim you, maybe someone dies, maybe someone touched you inappropriately. I am sorry and KULUNGILE sthandwa sam,” said Thandiswa.
