South African artist Makhadzi, real name Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, has revealed that she recorded a new track with legendary Kwaito musician Mzekezeke.
Makhadzi took to social media to share a surprising behind-the-scenes story, saying that although they collaborated on a song, she never got to see Mzekezeke’s face.
“I don’t think I will heal from this… my album is dropping today. I did a song with Mzekezeke and I never got a chance to see his face,” she wrote on X.
She explained that when it was Mzekezeke’s turn to record, bouncers ushered her out of the studio.
“Trust me, we will never see this face. Phela I had to record my verse, and when his turn came, the bouncers said we must go out because no one was allowed to see him,” Makhadzi added.

Makhadzi is set to release her new album Sesi Ka Rose tomorrow, Friday, 5 September 2025.
Mzekezeke first gained popularity in the early 2000s with hits like “Guqangama Dolo”, “Izinyoka”, “Amakoporosh”, and “Akekh’ugogo”.
Known for wearing a signature black mask and orange overalls to conceal his identity, rumours circulated that he was DJ Sbu, based on his voice and body structure.
DJ Sbu has repeatedly denied the claims.
Interestingly, Mzekezeke was never photographed with DJ Sbu and gradually disappeared from the limelight.
