South African radio personality and entrepreneur DJ Sbu, real name Sbusiso Leope, has announced that he is launching an online restaurant called Mzake’s Kitchen.
DJ Sbu revealed on social media that the new online restaurant will be available exclusively on Uber Eats starting from this Easter weekend.
He also hinted at his future of plans of expanding the brand and said, “@mzakeskitchen is a fresh new online restaurant serving African Cuisine on @ubereats_za starting easter weekend in Johannesburg.
Mzakes Kitchen Franchises available from 1st April 2026!”
Mzake’s Kitchen will serve mouthwatering African cuisine including braai meat platters, wings and chips and kotas.
According to DJ Sbu, the online restaurant celebrates the legacy of Kwaito musician Mzekezeke.
“@mzakeskitchen is an African Cuisine Restaurant that’s exclusive to @ubereats_za celebrating the Legacy Of Iconic Multi Award Winning Kwaito musician Mzekezeke,” he wrote on Instagram.
DJ Sbu has repeatedly denied claims that he is the man behind controversial masked musician Mzekezeke.
In a confession video he posted in 2023, he shared a video of Afro soul singer Ntando imitating Mzekezeke in an interview with Unathi, insinuating that Ntando is Mzekezeke.
Mzekezeke enjoyed great success in the early 2000s namely due to his smash hits “Sguqa Ngamadolo”, “Amakoporosh” and “Akekh’uGogo” to name a few.
Strangely enough, he was never photographed with DJ Sbu and he slowly disappeared from the limelight without a trace.
