She makes her creativity sound like it’s a walk in the park but Melo B Jones is the epitome of dynamite in a tiny package.
Known in the industry as one of the hardest working, independent artists in the country.
“I am always writing. I’m always working on concepts. Fine-tuning ideas constantly. I’m singing all the time, so that when I have to eventually put in the work and make it all come together, it’s easy.”
Her name is now one of the most sought after by artists wanting collaborations but she is selective, being careful to not tread too far away from her sound.
When asked about if the knocks are harder because she’s an independent artist she had this to say, “Yes, because everything now falls on you. It’s your brand, it’s your name.”
She doesn’t want to be signed to a label but wants the resources that a signed artist has. Her biggest concern is that she wants to manage expectations of her career and remain independent so she controls her sound, output, timelines.
Not wanting the rigidity that comes with being a signed artist, Melo B Jones is focusing on growing her brand via social media networking and is okay to work from the ground up.
