The family of Bafana Bafana star Itumeleng Khune is mourning the death of his sister, Mapula ‘Meiki’ Khune.
The goalkeeper’s mother Florah has revealed what happened before Mapula was found dead in their family home in Ventersdorp, North West.
She says her daughter had a vision that something bad was going to happen.
Florah told the Daily Sun that the night before Mapula died, a teenage boy visited their home.
The boy reportedly told the family that he wanted Mapula to help her with his homework.
He was sent to the back room where she was. Later, Mapula’s cousin arrived and he too helped the boy with his homework.
Mapula allegedly told her cousin that she had a vision about fire trucks, ambulances, and the police at her house.
The Daily Sun reports that she went to rest while her cousin continued helping the boy.

Itumeleng’s family home on fire
The next morning, Florah received a call from her neighbour saying her house was on fire, but she did not believe it.
She went as far as sending the firefighters away who were called to her house. But Itumeleng’s mother soon realised that the backroom was on fire.
The SAPS shared details about the incident.
“It is alleged that on Thursday, 4 March 2021, at about 05:00, neighbours saw smoke coming from a house in Extension 2, Tshing, Ventersdorp.
“Emergency Services were called, who after forcing entry into a back room, discovered the severely burnt body Khune on top of her bed. Only the back room was damaged during the fire,” police said in a statement.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested one day later.
Suspect released due to lack of evidence
SAPS originally investigated an inquest but changed the case to murder “after obtaining more information”.
The teenage boy was released on Monday. The National Prosecuting Authority said the case could not be added to the court roll due to insufficient evidence.
The docket was sent back to the police.
Meanwhile, Itumeleng has been placed on extended leave for “personal reasons”.
He is expected to miss Kaizer Chiefs match against Maritzburg United this week.
