Social media was abuzz this Wednesday after Makhadzi and King Monada went live on Facebook to fight over a song, ‘Ghanama’.
King Monada accused Makhadzi of foul play, claiming she wants the sole rights to the song which he says belonged to both of them.
Makhadzi, on the other hand, accused Monada of treating her like a dog and wanting to take credit for her hard work.

Their stunt caused havoc on social media; with many people saying they are disappointed that the two artists could not reconcile their differences privately.
Monada and Makhadzi have now come out to claim that all that was done to gain publicity for their new song.
Makhadzi announced that the song will be released on Friday 2 July.
“Tomorrow we are dropping Ghanama official audio MAKHADZI AND KING MONADA FT PRINCE BENZA … I would like to inform everyone that me and monada we are fine we did those live videos for publicity stunt.. and it really worked for our song to be known before the release.#ganama,” she wrote on Twitter.

Social media response
Makhadzi’s announcement was met with mixed emotions on social media.
One social media user accused Makhadzi of making light of issues that affect women in South Africa.
“This is disgraceful sis. Especially in light of the exploitation we continue to face as women in this industry. You lost a fan,” Beverly Ditsie wrote on Twitter.
“Ai lwena you shouldn’t have mentioned that you did it for publicity stunt. You should have just said you have reconciled your differences and reached an agreement. Now people that were hurt on your behalf are going to be disappointed,” another user wrote.
