The Freedom Front Plus (FF Plus) has urged President Ramaphosa to consult the party regarding the appointment of South Africa’s next US ambassador.
This follows the expulsion of the country’s former US ambassador from the United States.
The political development sparked an unexpected discussion about group dynamics on the Siz The World on Thursday morning.
Sol Phenduka noted that he’ll take the lead as long as it is within his expertise.
“If it’s my speciality, I want you to leave me alone and let me do my thing. I’ll take a backseat if I’m unsure whether my skills suit the project. But if it’s down my alley, trust me with it – others joining might just mess it up.”
Mfundo Mabalane related but noted a change in his perspective:
“I used to be like that, but learned the hard way it causes friction. Now I’ve become the opposite – perhaps not always productive, but I generally just observe.”
Sizwe Dhlomo took a results-driven stance: “I don’t care if people dislike my approach – they’ll appreciate it when we get an ‘A’.”
