Pooe also gave an overview of some of the things that will be covered in the upcoming ANC’s Policy Conference.
“The conference will kind of give us an insight of what it is thinking ahead of the elective conference in December, they’ll be speaking about the economy and the energy complex, the issue about how they still view National Health Insurance (NHI), the educations system etc…” says Pooe.
Pooe says that the ANC is very good at pronouncing policy but they lack implementation.
“When you actually do policy, you speak to international colleagues, who will tell you that part of the policy is implementation, and if your policy lacks implementation, it means you didn’t think about it from the beginning. The ANC is great at pronouncing… and that is how the ANC tends to approach policy. Instead of saying what is the data saying about it, what are the numbers saying…” says Pooe.
