Operation Dudula Secretary General Zandile Dabulawho gave Operation Dudula’s detailed take on what when they registered with the IEC.
“The whole process with the IEC was a way of eliminating small parties, like Operation Dudula. The whole signature process on it’s own was a very difficult task. Many small political parties fell of the process, and couldn’t reach the target that was set by the IEC. Operation Dudula, because we are rooted across 9 provinces, we did manage to collect all the signatures that were required. What happened is that, when we started capturing our candidates, we captured the provinces we are going to be contest on, which is Gauteng, Limpopo and the Western Cape and we completed that, and we now had to generated a reference number for national.
“What the IEC is claiming is that we went and deleted the first reference number.”
