
NSFAS fails to pay November allowances to 100 K students in 5 institutions.
Point of View with Phemelo Motene spoke to the South African Union of Students Spokesperson, Asive Dlanjwa about almost
100, 000 students across five institutions that have been left stranded for at least two months with no allowances.
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has blamed universities for failing to submit updated student information on time.

According to reports, the students are from the University of North West, the University of Venda, the Durban University of Technology, the University of Limpopo, and the University of Cape Town.
South African Union of Students Spokesperson, Asive Dlanjwa explained how they are baffled by how the NSFAS still struggles to know how many students they fund.
“We are asking NSFAS the question as to why every month there must be some sort of reconciliation of information, and how is that every month there must be a struggle to determine who is funded by NSFAS. Regrettably, in one of our meetings, it is sometimes very difficult for them to confirm exactly how many NSFAS students they are funding, we keep asking the same question and they are saying that they will improve their systems.” said Dlanjwa,
