The motion of no confidence brought against Johannesburg Mayor Kabelo Gwamanda.
The motion of no confidence in Johannesburg mayor Kabelo Gwamanda will be presented by ActionSA at the upcoming council meeting.
Action SA submitted the motion of no confidence in June, claiming that he had not provided sufficient clarification of the specifics of the scam claims made against him, however, Gwamanda has refuted the charges.
Point of View with Phemelo Motene spoke to ActionSA Joburg Caucus Chief Whip, Zark Lebatlang on the prospects of their motion being supported by most parties in the Joburg City Council.

“If you look at what guides any particular council, it is usually how councilors behave outside council as well as what is expected with the standing rules of any council. Any allegation that is posed against any councilor needs to be processed to the rules of council and this is what we have done as Action SA.”
“As a political party that is in opposition we have the obligation to stand against and corrupt activity and allegation against any councilor.” says Lebatlang
The motion of no confidence is likely to be heard between Tuesday and Thursday next week.
