
Leader of new political party Rise Mzansi – Songezo Zibi speaks to Point of View.
Songezo Zibi a former newspaper editor established Rise Mzansi, which he describes as a “people-centered political alternative to the failed political establishment.”
He joined Point of View with Phemelo Motene to speak about the party’s philosophy, policies, and plans leading up to the 2024 elections.

At a presentation in Johannesburg on Wednesday, Zibi, who is the co-founder of the think tank Rivonia Circle, outlined the party’s goals and its leadership and announced that it would run for office in 2024.

The newly formed political party would place a high priority on public engagement and education.
The launch on Wednesday, according to the party, follows two years of nationwide community discussions.
Ishmael Mkhabela and Makashule Gana, both former members of parliament for the Democratic Alliance, are notable figures for the newly founded Rise Mzansi.
