Makashule Gana, the national chief organizer of Rise Mzansi, resigned from the Gauteng legislature and the Democratic Alliance in August 2022, citing a lack of trust between the public and political parties.
Rise Mzansi has welcomed Ramalifho and has said he will be instrumental in their building phase, as they fast-approach the elections.
“RISE Mzansi is happy to welcome Khume Ramulifho, a talented and experienced political leader and public representative, who has served as both a Councillor in the City of Johannesburg and a Member of the Provincial Legislature (MPL) in Gauteng. Khume joins RISE Mzansi at a critical time as we continue to build the organisation in Gauteng, which is set to be one of the most contested battlegrounds in the upcoming election. Khume’s commitment to work with RISE Mzansi and build the South Africa we all deserve follows our November 2023 announcement that David Kabwa and MOVE SA have joined forces with us.”
