Johannesburg Water is going to reduce water usage in some parts of the city in addition to the water restrictions that have been in effect since September. According to Johannesburg Water, water reduction measures will begin in high-use regions of the city on Monday.
The water utility’s water conservation measures include lowering pressure and conserving water in high-use areas from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The reduction will be carried out on a planned basis and communicated to customers, according to Mzakhe Mtshweni, general manager of operations for the utility.
