A wave of anger has swept through Soshanguve as parents accuse the Gauteng Department of Education of enrolling their children in an unregistered school, leaving them stranded in an open field.
Speaking to Kaya News, the parents claim they were initially provided with uniform requirements for Klipfontein Secondary School, leading them to believe their children were properly enrolled.
However, their hopes were dashed when the academic year commenced, and they discovered their children were being taught in an open field.
The Department of Education had reportedly promised mobile classrooms as a temporary solution, but these have yet to materialise, leaving parents and students in a state of limbo.
Kaya News reporter Pitso Molemane, who has been investigating the situation, confirmed the parents’ claims, highlighting the growing frustration and concern within the community.
Point of View with Phemelo Motene spoke to Kaya News reporter Pitso Molemane and a parent at the school Joyce Njoku who explained what they experienced.
