Former President Donald Trump said that on Monday, FBI investigators searched his Mar-a-Lago home and broke into his safe.
This is reportedly part of an investigation into Trump’s relocation of official presidential records from the White House to his Florida club, something his son acknowledged had already taken place.
Phemelo Motene spoke to Felix Akoyam, who is a freelance journalist based in Massachusetts (US) on what happened at Trump’s home.

Akoyam says there’s been an ongoing investigation into Donald Trump since his departure as US President in January last year.
‘Yesterday’s visit by the FBI to Trump’s home came as a surprise to all Americans. It was not something anyone expected. Essentially, this is what we were told, and what we know so far is that this is connected with Trump’s cabinet official papers, and whether or not he took classified records from the White House when he left the office last year, in January.”

Top Republican figures threw their support behind former US president Donald Trump on Tuesday after an unusual FBI raid on his opulent Florida home.
According to reports the raid set off a political avalanche in a nation that was already sharply divided.
The 76-year-old Trump is being persuaded to say that he will run for president in 2024, by a number of his former advisors.
