Advocate Dali Mpofu, the former national chairperson of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has joined the MK Party.
A number of EFF members have been departing for the MK, notably Floyd Shivambu, the party’s former deputy, who departed in August. Just last month, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, a former public protector, also defected from the EFF.
Mpofu, an attorney for former President Jacob Zuma in a number of his personal cases, has also accepted briefs for MK Party cases since the party’s founding last year.
Mpofu said that the MK Party. was the sole means of bringing people together in an interview with the SABC on Thursday morning.
“The MK Party has been true to fostering unity. Total black and progressive unity and I feel total liberation would be achieved through MK Party.”
“I believed that the vehicle that we will achieve national and progressive unity is the MK Party.” said Mpofu,

MK National Organiser Floyd Shivambu took to Facebook to welcome Advocate Dali Mpofu to the party.
He wrote: “Welcome @AdvDali_Mpofu to the movement which has superior ideological, political and organisational capacity, composure and temperament to unite all the anti-colonial, anti-imperialist and anti-racist progressive forces in South Africa to fight for total political, economic, social, spatial, cultural and knowledge/ideological freedom and emancipation. @MkhontoweSizwex is blessed to be joined by capable, disciplined, hard working and selfless leaders!
