Lancôme has launched an empowerment programme that aims to address the critical shortage of information and technology tools (ICT) and empower young women.
Jill Snijman, Marketing Manager of L’Oréal Luxury South Africa joins Gugulethu Mfuphi on Kaya Biz to share more about this wide-reaching sustainability programme.
For years the brand has supported women and helped to develop skills, over and above building confident and happy individuals who make use of Lancôme products.
“The programme broadly is about enabling high potential women in under resourced communities between the ages of 18 to 25.
This is done through accredited digital education, with plans to roll out countrywide campaigns over the next few years.
First launched in 2017, the Lancôme Write Your Future pilot campaign kicked off in South Africa in February and has to date empowered more than 150 000 young women across the world.”

Through the Write Your Future campaign, women can work with social coding to identify the specific needs of young women in rural communities around the country, and help provide them with both digital education and support.
These are some of the tools that young women need to realize their full potential.
With nearly 43% of households in South Africa being female led breadwinners, Lancôme believes there’s a real need to expand socio-economic inclusion among young people, and use these digital skills to break the cycle of poverty.
