Embarking on a new professional journey is quite exciting, and for many this new chapter means new beginnings.
Although this new chapter may be exciting, starting a new role can be quite challenging.
Not only do yo have to adjust to your new environment, but you now also have to make a good impression.
On top of that, trying to remain positive when you’re going through a-bit of a financial hiccup can be quite discouraging and daunting to say the least.
On Feel Good with Andy Maqondwana, Andy asks listeners about the people who supported them when they started a new job.
In a call one listener shared how his friend helped him without asking him for anything in return.
“I just got a job. I had a car that I traveled with, but it sadly broke down. I asked a friend if he could please help me, but when I tried paying him back, he said “No it’s okay!”. When I asked why, he said because one day you will help me”, he explains.
Another listener shared how grateful she was to her parents and sister who supported her 8-years-ago when she got her first job.
“The people who helped me when I started my first job 8-years-ago were my parents and my sister. I remember my sister gave me a R1000, my mom gave me some money too. It was. team effort. They knew how depressed I was. Without their support, I don’t think I would be where I am today!”, she shared.
