Typically, as we all know, Valentines day is a day that specifically celebrates the romance and love between those who are coupled up.
Though this is great and all, what about the single ladies and single men?
As we celebrate Valentines Day, Kaya 959 has decided to celebrate the beauty of being single on this day!
On Feel Good with Andy Maqondwana, Andy who is also single, wanted to do something different this Valentines day by celebrating the fact she is happily single.
In doing so, she has invited five single listeners to not only enjoy a live broadcast with her but to also enjoy a private lunch prepared by Chef Kelly Njokweni.
Looking all sorts of fabulous, together with Andy, the five remarkable ladies celebrate the art of self love and its importance.
Here’s what the lovely ladies had to share about their journey’s with single hood and self love:
Keneiloe Maqelepo shares with Andy how the journey of getting to know herself has been very enjoyable and freeing.
“As you mentioned Andy, being single is a choice. It is a choice that I made for myself. I am divorced. it has been three years now. I have 4 sons, and I’ve realised that it’s not about them it’s about me! I am happily single and I have my freedom. Getting to know myself and having a relationship with myself has been very enjoyable”, Keneiloe shared.

Amanda Mohlala on the other hand delves into how she being a widow at 48-years old has allowed her to rediscover so many new parts about herself.
“It has been amazing. For me it was in that bitterness that you actually start to understand more about yourself. Going through the grieving process allowed me to find strength and tenacity, but more importantly I had to rediscover who Amanda was. I turned the sadness into a rediscovery of myself”, said Amanda.

Thandi Mnguni shared how she used her singledom to not only find herself button travel and spend time with her son, friends and family.
“I’ve been single for a year, Girl I tried everything! I even tried the online dating. It did not work out for me. I then decided to take a break to focus and work on myself. I used that time to travel and spend time with my son and family”.

Ma-sello Ntechane shared how she has been on a quest to find self-love after continuously attracting partners who are narcissistic.
“I’ve been on a quest for self love. Since breaking up with the father of my child two years ago, I went to the streets and the streets are gangater! Yoh! It’s rough out here. So I decided to heal myself from the (failed) relationships, daddy issues and attracting narcissists. I’m working towards self love”, Ma-sella shared.

Celeste Khoza explains how she’s tired of continuously being the one to pour into the people she has dated.
“I’m happily single because I’m tired of dealing with projects. I’m not bob the builder. And gents can’t simply recognise a real women”.
