Does your deceased partner approve of you moving on? Or are the ancestors blocking your relationships after a divorce?
Our parents and great-grandparents have taught us that when it comes to the spiritual world, it’s important to do things by the book.
However, in certain situations, we don’t know where to start, like a divorce or the death of a spouse.
Our resident medium Tebogo Mfete joins us in studio to guide Kaya 959 listeners on what to do following a divorce or the passing of a loved one.
Tebogo says it does happen that the ancestors don’t approve of your lover. “People don’t link it to spirituality because for some reason people think after divorce or death it is done,” he adds.
“This thing of go kopantsha badimo is very hectic. There are after-effects of you not doing things completely in the spiritual or in an ancestral way.”
He explains that “when people divorce or someone passes on, there are things and rituals that need to be followed all the time.”
A cleansing ceremony should be done to cleanse yourself from that person.
Tebogo notes after a divorce, it’s important to also divorce spiritually.
“We are quick to divorce in terms of the Western way but have we divorced spiritually?
“When you divorce spiritually, you need to go back to the same people/ancestors that you brought together and let them know that you are no longer one,” he advises.
