A frustrated listener shared that she was in urgent need of money from her husband, but he claimed he didn’t have any. However, when his father asked for financial help, her husband was quick to give him the money. What really upset her was that her father-in-law asked for a much larger sum than she did. Reaching out to The Best T in the City, the listener wants to know if she could be missing any blind spots.
“Uncle T, a few weeks ago, I asked my husband to help me with R5000. He told me he didn’t have it, and I left it at that. The following week, his father asked for money—more than what I asked for, and guess what? He gave him the money. I found this not only hurtful, but he showed me that I am not a priority to him. He would let me suffer rather than help me.
“I have since told him I will never ask anything from him again, and he got angry. Am I wrong? He clearly thinks my needs are not as important. And honestly, he made me feel that it is better to go to a stranger than to ask him for help. If I did that to him, not even about money, say food, all hell would break loose.”
